As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today
What is something you prefer to buy the store brand or knock-off version of?
Today’s prompt ties directly into yesterday’s prompt. In fact, I gave away today’s answer in yesterday’s entry.
I prefer to buy the heretic, store-brand or knock off vitamins. My reason for this is simple. Vitamins are vitamins. No one can put a patent on a vitamin. There no difference between a WalMart brand Vitamin C pill and one made by One a Day. Except for the price, obviously. Vitamins are one grocery store item where one definitely past for the brand name.
The same can be said for bottled water. Unless you’re buying distilled or spring water, “drinking water” is going to taste like the stuff that comes out of my faucet. Because, once again, one cannot out a patent on H2O. For that reason, I would much rather buy a WalMart or Kroger bottled water than a Dasani or Aquafina.
I understand that some people prefer brand name products. I have some situations where I do too, as I wrote about yesterday. but there are some cases where the generic / knock-off brand is indistinguishable from the more expensive brand name products
Some people will support one brand over another out of loyalty. It’s not unusual to find someone who has a batter business experience with brand-name good; even though the brand name product is more expensive.
