The Ballpark Rankings
In this “Unplugged” bonus session, I’m taking a deep dive into my quest to visit all 30 MLB stadiums. This is a raw, ad-libbed countdown of the 11 parks I have stepped foot in so far—ranking the 9 stadiums where I’ve seen a live game, plus two “Honorable Mention” tour stops.
No script. No glitz. Just the work, and the stories behind the 13-stadium progress mark.
The Data Points:
• The Honorable Mentions: Busch Stadium & Camden Yards (Tours only).
• The Countdown: From the concrete of the Rogers Centre (#9) to the history of the North Side.
• The “Home Base” Factor: Where does Comerica Park land when the “No Glitz” rule is applied
The Wrigley Connection
I realized during this recording that the #1 spot isn’t about being modern or “sparkling.” In fact, Wrigley Field has plenty of rough spots, as you’d expect for a place over 100 years old. But I loved it because it is the closest thing still in existence to remind me of the feeling of old Tiger Stadium. Walking into that park last year, I wasn’t looking for the year 2026; I was looking for the soul of the game, and I found it.
