Rob Goes Podcasting

Published by

Check out my very first foray into the world of podcasting. I originally recorded this back in May but I finally posted it last night.

This one is about the Detroit Tigers, my favorite baseball sport. I know: it’s not everybody’s cup of tea but it’s more about presentation at this point.

It’s far from perfect. I’m still trying to find my “voice” and I’m not even sure podcasting is for me; but it seems to be all the rage right now. Ironically enough, I didn’t even write any of this out in advance. I just as as-libbed it.

Here it is!

I’m toying with some ideas on how/if I should move forward with this. I would love some feedback:

  • Original content, similar to, but not the same as my blog posts
  • Reading some of my more frequently viewed blogposts; maybe even picking my personal favorite post each week. Maybe adding some new material as I go.
  • Just sticking to blogging and leave podcasting to the people with “radio faces”

I would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks for stopping by Rebuilding Rob. Be sure to like, comment and subscribe to my blog below. It’s greatly appreciated! Also, feel free to follow me on social media as well! Check out my most recent posts as well as some earlier related posts:

I think the idea of original content and/or the reading of the favorite blogs are really cool ideas. Good luck and congrats for having the courage to jump in and give this a shot!

Hey Kevin, thanks for the feedback! I think that’s what I’m gonna do. You know, stick to my wheelhouse basically.

I think that’s probably what I’ll do: read either my personal favorite post from each week, or what I think is the most popular from a given week. And maybe add a little bit to it as I go

It’s funny, because I thought that WordPress had some sort of podcasting plug-in.

I know there was something where it would basically just read your blog posts, but it was in that robot voice, but I didn’t really care for that.

Hey Rob, playing to your strengths is never a bad idea, at least to start. If you want to expand beyond that you can always do so down the road. I think the fact that you’re diving in to give it a shot is cool as hell all by itself.

Those robotic voices are so damn terrible, and I swear every other one on YT features them now.
I’ve thought before about posting videos just using my phone to record it with no flashy effects and talking like a normal freaking person. Just to be different lol

Go for it! There is way too many people who think they’re Steven Spielberg because they use an app that does all the editing for the automatically

I may give it a shot down the road. What’s the worst that happens? No one watches it? lol

I mean, I like cool videos too, but man…once in awhile it’d be cool not to hear an AI voice telling me how to find my center or handle frustrations.
