Listen while you work

Daily writing prompt
What do you listen to while you work?

I talked before here about how I am predominantly a rock guy. If you’re talking about working out, yes, I definitely listen to hard rock, metal, and even some of the early 90s “gangsta” rap.

As far as working at school, doing stuff around the house, a good go to for me would be any 80s mix. Lately, I’ve been listening to the 80s on eight channel on SiriusXM. I also like to listen to lithium and first wave.

I would’ve never guessed you for an early 90s gangster rap fan. Tell me more.

Not a lot, but public enemy, Ice T, N.W.A., a tribe called quest.

I know they were a little bit later on, but I never really got into the Wu-Tang Clan, I’m embarrassed to say…

I love A Tribe Called Quest! And also when Q-tip went out on his own. Tupac fan, or no? Snoop?

I wasn’t really into Wu-Tang either. My lawyer had the funniest sign on his grass outside of his office in 2020. I took a photo of it. It was so funny. It read, “Presidents come and go, but Wu-Tang is forever” he left that there for a year.

I do like Tupac, and snoop and Dre. And of course, Eminem, after all, he’s from Detroit.

I even like some Notorious B.I.G., but I try not to get into the old East Coast / West Coast thing too much

I think the East Coast / West Coast thing doesn’t really exist anymore. I may be wrong, but it doesn’t exist in my mind. Lol

Oh yeah, ancient history. But I didn’t know if it was still like the “either you’re a Beatles fan or an Elvis fan but you can’t be both” kind of thing.

Haha, I’m not sure about that. I live on the East Coast so I would side with them, but then I would miss out on all the West Coast music. And then obviously Detroit somewhere in the middle… I never really took a side, because I liked it all.
