As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today
Can we feel happiness without sadness?
I don’t think we can. Happiness and sadness is one of those symbiotic relationships of the universe. It’s kind of like trying to have courage without fear existing. Fear is what makes courage… Courage. So I think it goes a lot saying that without sadness, we can’t have happiness.
I remember George Burns had a speech when he played a God in Oh God Book 2. He taught about this idea of “the system“ and now you can’t have a front without a back; a top without a bottom; or a good without a bad. There’s just no way to circumvent the system.
If it wasn’t for the sad times, the happy times would have no meaning; or at least they would have significantly less meaning.
IF I MAY GO ON A RANT HERE: That’s part of the problem with social media. People only post the good stuff. They try to give the world the impression that they’re living their ”best life” everyday; when in truth, we know that that’s just not possible. Worse than that, it gives those of us who are struggling a bit the impression that everybody else has it better than we do.
