I don’t know that I have one single blogger I can point to and say, “This one is my favorite.” To be honest, I’m not sure there is a single blog that encompasses every interest I have at any given moment. Generally speaking, I find myself cycling through about four or five sites that I check on a regular basis.
About six weeks ago, I wrote the post embedded below. The “Flowers” concept is one I came up with a couple of years back to pay homage to the specific WordPress bloggers I genuinely enjoy following. If these “flower recipients” happen to get a little extra traffic or a nod from me, that’s just gravy.
All of the ‘flower recipients’—both from the aforementioned 2026 list and the original 2024 post are blogs I return to for the same reasons: our shared personal interests, a distinct writing style that resonates, or a unique approach to the craft of blogging. For example, the writer behind My Gen Xer life doesn’t just respond to daily prompts; they weave a Gen X track into every single entry and keep an evolving Spotify playlist that captures the entire journey. Their stories are interesting enough that I’m hooked on hearing what they’re up to next.
A “Curated Sunday” note: This morning I’ve focused on the input—who I choose to let into my digital space. In a few hours, I’ll be tackling the flip side of this process: the intentional work of pruning and weeding out those who no longer belong there.
