When I was 5, I wanted to be an astronaut.
What other kids wanted to be a police officer or a firefighter or a doctor, I wanted to be an astronaut. People loonies looked at me funny whenever I said that. I’m not really sure why. I mean this was the early 80s; years before the Challenger accident took place. But when I was five, my answer to the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?“ was an astronaut.
