I don’t want to sound too self congratulatory today, or like I’m patting myself on the back too much especially for a number that is small potatoes for most websites. But this is my blog and I can do what I want to, so…
While I was getting it a car accident – or already at the hospital Monday night, Your Favorite Blog hit 20,000 views.
First off, thank you to all of you for making that possible.
I know that 20,000 views for a blog, especially compared to the big boys of the internet is miniscule. Heck even compared to other WordPress bloggers, it’s hardly a pimple on the horses ass of the digital landscape.
I ended 2025 with a little over 18,0000 views for the year. I set a goal for 2026: 20,000 views by year’s end. I figured a 10% increase would be attainable goal; one that may have required a little work.
By late winter, i realized that the pace i was on could land me as much as 25,000 for the year. So keeping the 20K i mind, I set a stretch goal for 25,000.
I hit my year-goal Monday night . Everything else from here till New Year’s is just gravy.
This year, i created a second, and now a third season of Rebuilding Rob: The Podcast. Thank you to all two of you who listen there as well.
I wish i could explain to you all how big a part of my life this blog has become. Three-and-a-half years ago, i began writing everyday. 1,115 days later I’m still here.
Roughly 36 hours ago, I got in the worst car accident of my life and yet I still made sure to get something, anything posted. I started this blog back in 2012 during my divorce and 3 1/2 years ago, it became a lifeline for me 
I don’t know what’s going to happen years from now. I hope that one day my boys do see this blog and get a better understanding of who I am. Maybe one day I’ll finally open the last door with Sierra and share this with her too. As melodramatic as it may sound, this blog really has become the story of my life.
And once again today, I will invoke the same words from The Wolf of Wall Street, that I said on May 31 and a special podcast episode where I commemorated by 1000th consecutive day of blogging:
I’m not fuckin’ leaving
Unfortunately, my accident Monday evening kind of derailed my plans for this week’s podcast episode. I’m going to shoot for next Wednesday. In fact, the whole idea I had for that episode is probably scrapped now. Both getting 20,000 views and getting in my car accident on Monday I’ve really shifted my thoughts elsewhere. You can probably expect an episode of some deep thoughts on the accident as I spend the next several days processing it.
Rebuilding a life takes grit, consistency, and a lot of ‘Option C’ thinking. Having crossed the 1,000-day milestone, I’m now charting the territory beyond. The mission remains the same: No glitz.
